Curator's Talk W/ Swapnaa Tamhane says
6:00pm Open house, take a tour around SAVAC’s new home. Meet and greet with the SAVAC team.

SAVAC alongside of VTape, FADO, ImagineNative Film Festival and Reel Asian Film Festival, have joined forces to create a 7,400 sq ft barrier-free arts space on the fourth floor of 401 Richmond Street in Toronto. At its heart are two shared flex-spaces for presentation, performance and exhibitions, a climate-controlled archive and research facility, and a common space for organizational learning and shared experiences.

6:30pm Public Curator’s Talk by Swapnaa Tamhane.
Swapnaa Tamhane has been working across several platforms as an artist, curator, and writer. She has exhibited at FOCUS Photography Festival, Mumbai; Art Gallery of Mississauga; and A Space Gallery, Toronto. Her book, Sar: The Essence of Indian Design, was recently published with Phaidon Press. She is curating an exhibition of contemporary Canadian art for the Aga Khan Museum, Toronto, opening in July 2017.

This talk is presented as part of SAVAC's 2017 Annual General Meeting, which will follow the artist talk. To find out what we were up to last year, and what we've got coming up in 2017 - 2018.
