Goethe-Institut Toronto says
We are delighted to announce our last Deutscher Filmklub for the season. Join us on Friday, November 25, 2016 at 6 pm to watch "Age of Cannibals," the grotesque and thrilling story of two successful business consultants who travel to impoverished companies to make shady business deals.

Öllers and Niederlander have travelled around the world in the past few years as global power brokers that exist beyond politics. They are unethical and do not answer to anyone other than an unnamed international corporation. Their only objectives are to promote their careers and the company's profits. What happens when a new colleague joins them, replacing an old coworker who has been promoted but ends up throwing away his business success?

The film by Johannes Naber looks at the confines of capitalism and the system within it operates. It shows the unsettling side of the characters' luxury prison and was part of our Goethe Films series, Age of Cannibals, which screened in May of 2015.

We are wrapping up 2016’s Deutscher Filmklub with "Age of Cannibals" (shown in German with English subtitles). Come for the film and stay for the discussion (in German) and snacks afterwards. The discussion will be moderated by Philipp Schnaase. Be sure to check our Facebook, Twitter and library newsletter for more news on the upcoming Filmklub season in 2017!
