Jay Reid is one of this year's Guelph Mercury Top 40 under 40. He is a co-founder of The Making-Box and a Regional Director with the Canadian Improv Games (CIG), a nationally recognized non-profit that gives high school students a platform to explore theatrical improvisation in a fun and supportive environment. Jay has had the absolute pleasure of teaching and studying improv across Canada (and in Chicago) as a National Trainer for the CIG and through The Making-Box’s Improv For Business program. Jay once did stand-up comedy for the former mayor of Guelph and twice wondered if she liked it.

The Brigade is the performance ensemble for The Making-Box, voted Guelph's Best Live Theatre by the Guelph Mercury (2015). This fun-loving pack of super-friends is made up of poets, environmentalists, students, painters, engineers and more! It doesn't matter who they are, what matters is the connection they share on and off stage. Want to feel the love? You can high-five Brigade Members at their monthly shows at The Making-Box downtown Guelph! Visit for details.
