Participants will learn to make videogame controllers out of traditional crafting methods and the Makey Makey, a device that interfaces with computers to register alternative controls. This workshop is in association with the emerging artist exhibition There Should Be Gardens in the gallery space from September 2 - 26, 2015.

At the end of the workshop or series, what should a student expect to have made, or be able to make?

Students will have made a DIY videogame controller. They’ll have an understanding of simple soft circuits.

What materials/equipment should students bring?

Laptop, no software needed.

If you have a favourite crafting style, like cross-stitching, weaving, sewing, feel free to bring any materials!

A handcrafted videogame controller.
