Handcrafted Videogame Controllers!!

Participants will learn to make customized videogame controllers out of traditional crafting methods and the Makey Makey, a device that interfaces with computers to register alternative controls.

Date: Sunday May 8, 2016

Time: 2-5pm

Registration Fee:

$45 (With Annual Studio/Workshop Pass ) + Share MakeyMakey during workshop

$60 (Regular) + Share MakeyMakey during workshop

or

$110 (With Annual Studio/Workshop Pass) + MakeyMakey to take home

$125 (Regular) + MakeyMakey to take home

Material Fee: None. We will have 3 Makey Makeys available for participants to use and share during the workshop.

Add $65 for a Makey Makey that you will take home along with your creation(s).

What, if any, prerequisite knowledge should students have? None.

What to Bring: A laptop. If you have a favourite crafting style, like cross-stitching, weaving, sewing, feel free to bring any materials. And/or think about a video game you'd like to make a new controller for.

Required Software: None.

About the Instructor: Lindy is a maker, cyborg and radical education enthusiast based in Toronto. They hold a MFA from OCADu and a BFA from Concordia University. Lindy runs Make Friends Monthly TO and an annual conference for social change in tech called Make Change as co-founder of Little Dada. They also co-facilitate LGBTQ+Women's weekly events at Site 3 coLaboratory. During their spare time, they enjoy cycling, constructing whimsical robots, and creating Dadaist artwork.
