Panelists will discuss the economic terrain navigated by artists and arts facilitators. We will touch on complex topics and contested issues such as the advantages and limitations of standardized artist fees, the value of “exposure,” fair versus unfair artist compensation, lack of financial support, unpaid organizational labour, non-monetary means of compensation, exchanges of labour, and alternative non-funded gallery structures. This will be an open, informal dialogue and we encourage audience members to participate.

Moderated by Ivana Dizdar and Sophie Quick.
Co-presented by 8eleven Gallery, Toronto, and Good Sport Gallery, London.
