In the days of the Ming dynasty, Chen (Hwang Jang Lee, the high kicking baddie from SNAKE IN THE EAGLE’S SHADOW), a ruthless court official trained in Eagle Claw and coveted the Iron Armour technique, frames General Chow Lu Fong (super kicker John Liu) for the murder of a noted dignitary. Liu is intent on exposing the real killer and clearing his own name. Fong’s only link is a greedy opportunist named Hu Loong (Li Hoi San), who he pursues across country, between dodging additional contract killers, clan sympathizers and Loong’s impartial teacher (Philip Ko Fei). Vexed by Fong’s tenacity, Chen dispatches a bounty hunter, Sheng Yu (Tino Wong), to deliver Fong, but with each encounter, Sheng begins to suspect that Fong and himself are expendable pawns in a greater conspiracy.

Directed by Ng See Yuen, producer of Jackie Chan’s breakout hit SNAKE IN THE EAGLE’S SHADOW, INVINCIBLE ARMOUR is classic old school kung fu action with evil bearded masters, high kicks and over the top training sequences.ARMOUR is beloved for it’s stars’ dynamic and diverse kicking methods and Hwang’s signature jumping triple kicks or Liu’s jaw dropping tornado-like moves compensates for the lack of character development. The additional flips, kicks and tumbles are performed by up and coming great stuntmen and choreographers including Corey Yuen Kwai, who went on to handle the fight direction in X-MEN and CHARLIE’S ANGELS, Jackie Chan’s classmate and frequent co-star Yuen Biao and Yuen Shun Yi aka Sunny Yuen, member of the revered Yuen Clan that includes Yuen Woo Ping (THE MATRIX). Dubbed in English and on glorious 35mm!
