La Rumba Buena says
Straight from the salsatecas of Cali, Juana Go-gó makes her debut at La Rumba Buena.

First falling in love with the engaging patterns of salsa at a young age as a dancer in her hometown of Cali, Colombia, Juana began to develop a distinct appreciation for the music on vinyl, allowing her to explore the vibrant textures and colors that salsa music induces both on and off the dancefloor.

A deeply passionate dancer and record collector, Juana now shares her energy and experiences through music and movement.

La Rumba Buena is a night dedicated to classic Latin sounds inspired by the salsatecas in Cali, Havana, and New York. No frills, pure vibes, and a non-stop dance floor open to anyone who catches the rhythm.

La Rumba Buena just means a great party and ‘Rumber@s’ are people who love to dance. Expect to hear Salsa, Boogaloo, Cumbia, Guaguanco, Son, Rumba, Descargas, Mambo, Cha-Cha-Cha, Bomba, and Plena from the resident DJs. With a stack of vinyl collected over a decade from across the Americas, DJs Blancon and Drumspeak play out the sounds from the Latin Diaspora and bring La Rumba Buena to Toronto.

There will also be live percussion to inspire all of you to connect with your inner rumber@!

This is all going down at the Yauca’s Lounge on Dovercourt, just north of Bloor.

Cover is $5 before 11 PM and $10 after.

*We regret that Yauca's Lounge is not a fully accessible venue.
