The second evening of the 11-night Lulaworld festival has a Latin hip hop flavour featuring Los Poetas' remix launch and a musical homecoming by Panamanian Canadian urban tropical superstar Fito Blanko.

Los Poetas

Hailing from Toronto and Vancouver, with roots in Chile, El Salvador and Argentina, Louwop, Ché Uno and Vago are Los Poetas. Fluidly incorporating English, Spanish and “Spanglish,” the trio bridges the gaps between the Americas and beyond, addressing the struggles and injustices that persist in their homelands as well as the duty to preserve their Latin roots through beats and rhymes. Conveying the Latino experience as raised in hip hop culture, Los Poetas, immensely skilled in the trade of that Ol' Boom Bap, are true masters of this complex and often misunderstood art form.

Fito Blanko

After serving as an ambassador to the Toronto Panam games last year, the hugely popular Panamanian Canadian tropical-urban singer/songwriter Fito Blanko returns to Lula, 13 years after his first appearance at the club as part of Lula’s original Movimento Alter-Latino series. The multi-award winner has worked with Beenie Man, Elvis Crespo, Poo Bear and Dasoul and in 2013 was signed to Pitbull’s Mr. 305 Inc. label after his hit single Pegadito Suavecito hit number one on the Billboard Latin Tropical Chart. In 2015, Fito’s Grammy-nominated song Meneo appeared in the soundtrack for the "Furious 7" movie.
