Love Handle says
Love Handle keeps steppin up its' game by bringing to Toronto the absolute best in Dj'ing talent from across the continent. This month's guest is an OG in the Chicago music scene. Cutting his teeth in the early 90's as part of the Chi-town rap group All-Natural, Tone went on to rock the early 90's DMC's as well as touring the world. However, it's his label Al-Tone Edits which has got the boogie/funk/disco scene in a lather. His knowledge of rare gospel infused boogie is at a premium, and Love Handle is incredibly happy to bring you the maestro, Tone b Nimble for his first Tdot appearance this Century!

The DJ:
Tone has been spinning disco, soul, funk, and hip-hop for over 25 years. His career began to take off as a DJ spinning at various special events and universities during the late 80’s and early 90’s. In the early 90’s, Tone began to gain worldwide recognition as a battle DJ, culminating in ‘93 with an induction into Clark Kent’s “Superman DJ Crew” (NYC). In 1994 Tone entered the radio industry as a mixshow jock on
the “Yo Show” with the Legendary Pink House, this show was the first daily radio program on a FM frequency in Chicago dedicated solely to hip-hop. From 94-96 you could catch Tone B Nimble Monday through Friday on 106 Jamz from 10PM to 12 midnight playing hip-hop in its purest form. A model of
consistency, you’ve been able to catch Tone at a variety of venues around Chicago from 1994 to the present. Some of his most popular residencies have been at the following clubs: The Lower Links, The Spot, Red Dog, Liquid Kitty, Sini Bar, Slick’s, Lava Lounge, Sonotheque, and his newest music endeavor, The Shrine. Tone’s taste has refined, his passion has only grown, and he remains always in search of a soulful discovery.

The Label Owner:

In 2000, Anthony Fields took over the daily operations of All Natural, Inc. Under Anthony’s watch ANI has released over 40 recordings internationally, expanding its footprint while remaining one of the most consistent independent labels in hip-hop. The company and its artists have been featured in numerous national publications including Time, Vibe, The Source, XXL, URB, XLR8R, Trace (United Kingdom) and Radikal (France), and featured on CNN. Today ANI maintains a diverse roster and releases a wide range of music including hip-hop, soul, disco, house and jazz.

In 2012 Tone started the disco edit series Al-Tone Edits, with partner Alvin Delk. The label focuses on lesser known gospel, afro, and soul oriented disco. With consistent and quality releases (7), Al-Tone has carved their niche with top selectors around the world looking for dancefloor gems.
