Roicel Riverón
The virtuosic drummer for Manolito y su Trabuco for many years Roicel Riverón plays timbales and drum kits simultaneously, balancing incredible energy and absolute control. Also appearing on recent Bamboleo y Danae recordings, Roicel, brother of Toronto’s own Roberto Riveron (Guaracha y Son, Cafe Cubano, Iroko) has toured North America and Europe extensively. His contribution to Lulaworld 2016 will be his first Toronto performance.

Roberto Linares Brown
One of Cuba's most talented arrangers and composers, Roberto Linares Brown (aka El Seña') began his career with Cuban groups Valentin y Los Del Caribe, Azucar Negra and Adalberto Alvarez. An incredible pianist, percussionist and singer, Roberto’s work including his brilliant 2008 release "Que No Se Pierda La Essencia", has laid the foundations for much of the development in Toronto’s Cuban scene in over the last decade.
This concert marks the first time in almost a decade that Roicel has played with LInares Brown and Roicel's first performance in Canada with his bassist brother Roberto Riveron, known to Lula audiences as the bass player for Cafe Cubano and leader of Guaracha y Son.
