The event creator says
NYC Secret Keeper duo of avant jazz guitar maverick Mary Halvorson and bassist Stephan Crump return to Toronto for an intimate performance. Halvorson's gently angular guitar notes bounce over bowed bass lines. This stripped down duo builds compositions that play with the the space in their sonic dialogue. Their movements ebb & flow like a winding river that doubles back on itself. Always asking something of the other, but never taking too much. Crump and Halvorson stepg carefully as if navigating a haunted house, but with the playful innocence of a child.

Robin Dann & her who's who crew of Toronto avant song slingers & weirdos, pump out soulful compositions that are full of blooming vocal flourishes, airy guitar whispers and bubbling beats. Sounding like the release of some lost spirits rejoicing as they flee into the eather, Bernice creates a uniqwue atomosphere. Vocals swell and fall, as spectral guitar notes drip from the sky. Electronic drum textures pop & gurgle like a stweing bog, fermenting. Don't miss this beautiful ghost music.

Toronto guitarist, uke player, improvisor and general warper of the contemporary lens, Michael Keith performs a set of solo ukulele music. Distorted chords, bleed into blistering shredding, then building angular repetetive structures. Keith taps into Persian & Chinese music traditions, melting them in his gnarled notes. Pulling back his playing reveals sparse beautiful notes dancing, lost in time, until they are swept us by a billowing current. If you haven't seen Michael, he is a Toronto anti-legend, as ubiquitous as the city itself.
