About Goombine

Goombine comes from the Yuin Waddi Waddi Nation on the Southeast Coast of Australia. He is a Songman, carrying traditional songs that have been passed down through his bloodline for thousands of years. He has toured around the world sharing his songs, stories and dances with audiences across the globe. Goombine initiated a program where traditional dance is mandatory for all school children of every race to be involved it. That has been an instrumental key to the success of bridging the gap with Aboriginal children in Australia. He believes that through understanding comes respect and unity.

As an invited choreographer to China, he choreographed segments of the Opening Ceremonies at the Beijing Olympics highlighting Aboriginal Australia. He also was a co-choreographer in creating the Opening Ceremonies of the 2003 Rugby World Cup in Sydney.

Goombine continues to perform across Australia and internationally either solo or with internationally renowned dance group, Doonooch Dancers.
