New Release: Citizen Jane, With A Jane's Walk says
Jane Jacobs changed our cities, streets and neighbourhoods for the better. And now she's getting a doc tribute.

We're celebrating the Opening Night screening of "Citizen Jane: Battle for the City" with a:

+ Jane's Walk Toronto towards TIFF Bell Lightbox
+ post-film discussion with Amanda Lewis, Hibaq Gelle, and a speaker from Parkdale Neighbourhood Land Trust (PNLT).

This timely and inspirational documentary chronicles legendary writer and urban activist Jane Jacobs’ battle to save historic NYC neighbourhoods from the draconian redevelopment plans of ruthless power broker Robert Moses in the 1960s.

Prior to the screening and talk, experience a Jane’s Walk led by Ken Greenberg, urban designer, teacher, author, and former Director of Urban Design and Architecture for the City of Toronto, and former Toronto Mayor Barbara Hall. At 5:30pm, meet at Jane’s Chairs in Victoria Memorial Square (10 Niagara St.) and hear about the history of the area while walking towards TIFF Bell Lightbox.

Opens Friday, April 21 at TIFF Bell Lightbox.
