TOPIC: “Refugees Welcome - Lessons Learned From Thousands of Canadians “Adopting” Syrian Refugees”

SYNOPSIS: Manhattan-based New York Times Reporters Catrin Einhorn and Jodi Kantor spent much of the last twelve months travelling around Canada researching and writing long articles for an ongoing series in the NYT about a Syrian resettlement program in this country. Their provocative articles are generating record numbers of readers around the world. They are available free-of-charge at www.nytimes.com/refugees. At this event Einhorn and Kantor will share what they learned with Ahmed Hussen, Canada’s Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship. Born and raised in Somalia, Minister Hussen immigrated to Canada in 1993.
