Oh Geronimo

I know that you have experienced a few deeply personal, profound moments that linger throughout your entire life, because I have too. These irreplaceable memories are at the root of your philosophy - they give you a definition of yourself. In recognizing the immense value of these moments, you experience true nostalgia. The wonder feels heavy in your chest, and makes you pause.

When I was very young, I was riding in the back seat of my mom's car, with the sunroof open on a clear summer day. We were on a hilly road out in the country, when I saw a great blue heron take off from a pond. It flew in my direction, and then inexplicably began flying directly above the car at the same speed as we were driving. I distinctly remember watching this massive bird through the open sunroof in awe. Now I love birds, but more importantly, I realize that this moment made a permanent impression upon my life.

As a child, it can be easy to immerse yourself in a moment. As an adult, regret and anxiety and stress get in the way. My friends and I have a project that provides an escape from the daily rigours of modern life. Together we craft songs about the experiences that have defined our lives. In order to fully express ourselves, we ignore all of the distractions, and freefall into the moment. Oh Geronimo.

Young Doctors In Love

Bandleader, songwriter and guitarist Clay Puddester is an award-winning classical composer whose love for both Beethoven and the Beatles drives the group’s catchy yet-sophisticated sound. Originally from St. John’s, Newfoundland, Puddester completed a master’s in music at the University of Toronto and stayed on to pursue his dream of crafting perfect pop tunes for a wide, beyond-the-concert-hall audience.

Young Doctors in Love’s first EP, 5 Golden Greats, was released on March 27, 2010 and has received enthusiastic praise. One of the songs from the EP, “Eloise and Her Sister Marta,” was featured in Brad Wheeler’s “Essential Tracks” column in the Globe and Mail and another one of the EP’s tracks, “(And If You Really Want To) Say That Again,” was featured in John Sakamoto’s “Anti-Hit List” in the Toronto Star. Canadian music blog NXEW implored people to “Do yourself a HUGE favor and check these guys and girls out... you are in for a treat” and Bryan Acker of the music blog Herohill said that the EP “explodes out of the speakers with energy, confidence and talent.”

Jonesin' and the Hurt

Two street musicians who made a killer rock band focusing on the styles of indie, folk, and garage music. A Nova Scotian' and a Ajax Ontarian, we bring the edge of the suburbs and the ocean. Together we are really getting a handle on popular rock writing and catchy choruses and lyrics. Ultimately and most importantly we have heart.... and you can't by that.
