Orpheus’ spring tour features legendary Pinchas Zukerman collaborating with Orpheus for the first time in performances of light-hearted and majestic works by Mozart and Beethoven. A two-time Grammy-winner, Zukerman “seems the forever young virtuoso: expressively resourceful, infectiously musical, technically impeccable, effortless” (Los Angeles Times). The program also includes the premiere of Harold Meltzer’s new commission for Orpheus, Vision Machine. Meltzer is lauded by Fanfare for his “scrupulous craft and exceptional freshness.” This work was commissioned as part of the American Notes initiative which explores musical perspectives on national identity in a globalized world.
