Join us for the Opening Reception on Thursday August 18th, 7pm-11pm

Exhibition runs from August 18th-25th, 2016

Ukrainian Photographer Paul Taborovsky presents his Canadian debut at the Black Cat Artspace in Roncesvalles village on August 18th to the 25th 2016.

Taborovsky coined the term “trash-style” for this particular aesthetic in photography. The work is dedicated as much to the set and immediate environment as it is is to the lens, layout and medium. Although the images seem highly saturated, this is credited mostly to the effect of the environment and positioning of the subject.

His most recent exhibition prior to emigrating to Canada was at The National Gallery of Ukraine in Kiev, The Ukrainian House, where he was selected to present his newest body of work and to publish a book based on the collection. Taborovsky will begin preparing to exhibit for the Contact Photography Festival in 2017 at the Dylan Ellis Gallery, for a featured travelling exhibition which will be presented in Washington DC and New Orleans before it's full month stay in Toronto for the festival.

This body of work was styled and exicuted in collaboration with:
