// Charlotte Cornfield
Toronto singer-songwriter Charlotte Cornfield plays a set of mostly new songs, all on piano, accompanied by bassist Kathryn Palumbo.

“Her songwriting is ravenous. Even here, in uneasy happiness, the 27-year-old sounds like she will wolf down her life as fast as she is able. The windfalls, the crises, the concerts, the chance encounters – she’ll sprint through them all, collecting burs. This is work in the tradition of Dylan or Townes Van Zandt” The Globe And Mail

// Noah Reid
Noah Reid has many faults, and music is one of them. His piano-heavy style of singer songwriter relies on a lyrical, almost conversational brand of storytelling, and an honest voice. This past year he released his debut album Songs From A Broken Chair, and a lot of people have said they really liked it. Earlier this year, he was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Original Song. I asked him who he thought he sounded like, and he didn’t really answer the question, but just kind of mumbled about authenticity and Tom Waits and Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen and Neil Young and Paul Simon and Elton John and Nina Simone. So who knows.
