Tuesday, November 3
Toronto City Hall (Bay and Queen)
Food will be provided

City Council is going to vote on a plan to remove 634 shelter beds from George St. in the downtown east so the area can be 'revitalized'. Most will never return. This measure is only part of a plan to drive the homeless out of the centre of the City and relocate them in the suburbs.

The shelters are already massively overcrowded and are operating in a state of crisis. To close down facilities and try and move them to the fringes of the City is a reckless act of social cleansing that will cause great hardship and put lives at risk. How can people possibly survive in areas that lack the services they need and without provision for transportation?

Come out to City Hall on November 3 and be part of the fight to prevent the driving out of the homeless and fight for the basic right to shelter!
