The Royal Cinema - Toronto says
Calling all nostalgia-freaks, horror hounds and celluloid junkies! Are you looking for the latest cinematic thrill? Retropath has you covered. Specializing in the most bizarre oddities to stumble out of the ’50’s and ‘60s, this series is guaranteed to deliver the weirdest and wildest that cinema has to offer.

9:00 pm - Super sixties pre-show
9:30 pm - Main feature!

Dr. James Xavier (Ray Milland) is a world-renowned scientist who has developed eyedrops that will increase the range of human vision. With this, humans should be able to see beyond the visible spectrum, but because Xavier believes that testing on animals or subjects wouldn’t give him the concrete answers that he wants, he decides to try it out on himself. At first, his x-ray abilities are easier to control; being able to sneak a peak behind a brassiere, hit the card tables to make some cash, or even help an ailing patient who has been misdiagnosed, but with repeated uses of the drops, everything begins to descend into an insane psychedelic nightmare.

King of the B’s Roger Corman created this masterwork in sixties-shlock on an unbelievably small budget, so much so that even he cited it as a miracle. X: The Man with the X-Ray Eyes is a powerfully fun film that is as shocking as it is outlandishly ridiculous, and we can’t wait to watch it with you.*
