WANT MORE INFORMATION? WONDERING IF IT’S FOR YOU?

PROJECT INFORMATION SESSION WEDNESDAY JUNE 1st, 6pm, Buddies in Bad Times Theatre Cabaret.

The info session will be followed by QUEERCAB at 8 pm, Buddies’ monthly youth open mic. This month to kick off of the Youth/Elders Project we open the stage to people of all ages!

The Youth / Elders Project: We are looking for queer and trans identified people age 25 and under, and 55 and over to take part in a year-long oral history and theatre project. Starting in September 2016, participants will be part of creating an original production that documents contemporary queer life from both sides of a generational divide. Participants will meet weekly for workshops, discussions, story-exchange, theatre skill building and more. In January 2017, a final group of performers will be selected to take the material generated into the creation and performance of the final production.

The final production will be directed by Buddies Artistic Director Evalyn Parry, in collaboration with Vanessa Dunn, and will be presented in June 2017 as part of Buddies mainstage season.

Applications will be available starting June 1st.

You do not need any previous stage experience to apply. We are looking for folks with an interest in storytelling who want to collaborate on a fun, intergenerational project that meets weekly to investigate queer community. We welcome applicants with skills or training in the arts (dance, music, visual art, film making, etc) but who are NOT professional actors.

Buddies in Bad Times Theatre is located at 12 Alexander Street. Buddies is a fully accessible facility for audience members and performers.
