Bad Dog Theatre Company says
NNNNN - Now Magazine
****1/2 - Torontoist
Patron's Pick - Toronto Fringe Festival

"Is that as terrifying to do as it is to watch?" - Neil Patrick Harris (really.)

"True Blue offers improv as few have ever seen it before... rarely is the high wire act of improv so exposed." - Torontoist

"Stylish and unique... That a piece of theatre with no script can be so well paced, authentic and sophisticated is testament to how very good Bad Dog Theatre Company is." - Mooney on Theatre

“...director Colin Munch is pushing the boundaries of improvised storytelling...“ Carly Maga, The Toronto Star

“With True Blue, director Colin Munch is bringing something different to Bad Dog’s improv lineup and the effect is thrilling… An hour of theatre that plays on a formula you’ve surely seen a hundred times (Law & Order, NYPD Blue, Castle, every other show on TV) and creates something you’ve never seen before.” - Kelly Bedard, My Entertainment World

What are the ripples that follow after a tragedy? How is a community affected by loss? Who benefits from murder? True Blue is a fully improvised police drama about family, lies and loss set in rural Ontario. Though inspired by atmospheric police procedurals such as True Detective, The Fall, Top of the Lake and Broadchurch, each episode of True Blue is a standalone mystery. From the discovery of the crime scene to the unravelling of alibis, loyalties are tested and evidence is gathered in a spontaneously crafted thriller - as much a character study of two detectives as of the town they are charged with protecting.
