We Are Water: A Fundraiser To Support Indigenous Land Defenders says
Join us for an evening of art, music & solidarity!

In light of recent & ongoing events at Standing Rock, here, & everywhere, we're gathering some amazing local talent to share their music, installations, arts, & hearts with y'all on behalf of support for Indigenous land defence efforts - & it's going to be rad!

Doors: 8pm, 19+
Entrance: $10 or pay what you choose (less... or more!)
The main floor is accessible, though washrooms are down stairs.

100% of profits will go to supporting Indigenous land & water defenders involved in ongoing pipeline resistance efforts. This includes support for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in their ongoing legal actions to halt the Dakota Access pipeline; as well as support for the Pull Together collective, working to halt the recently greenlit Trans Mountain & Enbridge Line 3 pipelines in B.C, & the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation in their Supreme Court challenge against Enbridge's Line 9.

Live art installation: a collection of dreamy, watery, 16mm celluloid loops by Sylvain Chaussée of Zephyr.

Live Musical Performances by:

MUTT - https://muttt.bandcamp.com/
Shades of blue, dusty soul, railroad & roll that digs deep, & burns low. Mutt's new tunes slice bread & chop wood, the old fashion way. Backed by three young, sharp switch blades, the band’s boot’s are tied up tight & ready to tap.

BLUNT CHUNKS - https://soundcloud.com/blunt-chunks
Toronto based Caitlin Woelfle-O'Brien is a singer/dancer/producer/DIY-filmmaker/woman-about-town. With loops, samples, & ethereal vocals her songs are dense sonic environments that enhance the powerful songwriting beneath the surface.

And selecta DJ Jimshorts, brought to the shores of Lake Ontario on a Cascadian ocean breeze~

With locally donated items from: justseeds, Easy Tiger, The Common On Bloor, SOUVENIR Studios, The NutHouse, Stamen & Pistil Botanicals, Adrian Cook, Erin Ladd, RMT Bodies in Transition: Access to Care, Stay Sharp Athletic Club - Brittney Adams CPT

This event is taking place on the traditional territories of Mississauga Anishinabeg, Haudenosaunee, and Huron-Wendat.

Thanks to everyone involved for volunteering their time, & to The Steady Cafe & Bar for hosting this event <3 <3 <3
