Winter Lights says
Let's celebrate another successful year at Site 3 by lighting up a dark night. (It's not quite winter, but sunset is at 4:40pm...)

Our last LED party was great so let's see if we can do it even better this time. We make a lot of things with LEDs. We like throwing parties. So, we are going to throw a party where everyone gets to show off their LED things! Costumes, projects, visualization programs - bring everything you've got, because we're going to keep the shop dark without them.

Free workshops start at 7pm, party starts at 9, LED creation contest runs at midnight. Show us what you've got!

No advance tickets - $10 night of, or $15 if you're a darkwad.

BYOB, and bring a cup - you might just be surprised. We'll also have food, t-shirts, LED kits, and other swag available if you'd like to support us in our fifth year offering weekly free open house nights to the public.

WORKSHOPS - 7pm to 9pm

Learn to Solder:
A very important skill if you want to get into LED projects. We'll cover through-hole (regular) and surface mount (advanced) soldering techniques. Create a light for the party, or bring your own kit for something more advanced.

More TBD - check back soon!

Bring your LED creations to the shop, set them up, and at midnight we'll vote on who's got the best. Categories include:

Costume - for the best wearable LED project
Installation - for the best light-based art project
Visualization - for the best software lighting effects of a custom or off-the-shelf lighting system
Wild card - it can be anything as long as it lights up. Extra points for creativity!
