Aga Khan Museum says
Launched in early 2016, our World Music Series continues this season with rhythms and sounds rooted in the 20th and 21st centuries. Venture into Central Asia and South-eastern Europe as we welcome back throat-singer Radik Tyulyush, and introduce a Turkish trio that thrives on improvisation.

Credited with single-handedly introducing the outside world to the boundless wealth of Tuvan traditions, Huun Huur Tu has spent decades honing overtone singing, instrumental approaches, and the vibrant songs of Central Siberia’s Altai Mountains. Drawing subtly from both 20th-century composers and the contemporary palette of electronica, Huun Huur Tu transform ancient songs into to ethereal, universal music accompanied by lively acoustic compositions.
