Save the rideshare money this Valentine's Day when you elope to Las Vegas, because you don't even have to leave the airport.

Officials in the self-proclaimed Wedding Capital of the World have opened a pop-up marriage license bureau inside Harry Reid International Airport, timed to handle a surge of couples heading to Vegas for Valentine’s Day (and other numerically satisfying February wedding dates).

The temporary bureau runs through February 16, right through Presidents Day weekend, and is located in Terminal 1 baggage claim across from carousel 15. It’s open daily from 8am to 5pm and offers both marriage licenses and vow renewal certificates.

Normally, couples need to make the roughly eight-mile trip from the airport to the downtown Clark County Marriage License Bureau before they can legally marry at a chapel, resort or drive-through venue. The airport pop-up essentially removes that step, letting couples handle paperwork before they even leave the terminal.

Timing-wise, the initiative is no accident. Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday this year, which officials expect will create a particularly busy wedding window. February has effectively been treated as “Wedding Month” in Las Vegas for years, with Valentine’s Day historically ranking among the most popular ceremony dates in the city.

And it’s not just Valentine’s Day driving interest. So-called “magic dates” like 2/6/26 and 2/26/26 (and Friday the 13th, for the contrarians) are also expected to bring in couples looking for memorable anniversaries without months of planning.

If you miss the pop-up window (or just want something slightly fancier), the permanent Clark County Marriage License Bureau downtown is still open from 8am to midnight 365 days a year, meaning Vegas remains one of the few places in the country where you can realistically decide to get married and do it the same day.

In other words, if you land in Las Vegas this February and notice couples dressed slightly fancier than typical baggage claim attire, there’s a decent chance they’re not heading to the Strip yet. They might just be getting legally married before they realize the airline lost their bags.
