Shake the sand out of your towel and get ready to hashtag—America's most Instagrammable beaches were just revealed.

A new study by vacation rental marketplace FloridaRentals.com analyzed the number of Instagram hashtags for America's most visited beaches, comparing the ratio of each beach's length to the hashtags per meter.

And in the top spot?

La Jolla Cove in San Diego is the most Instagrammable beach in the U.S., with 4,257 hashtags per meter, despite having the smallest length of all the top beaches. That's a lot of posts! La Jolla Cove, surrounded by scenic cliffs, is known for diving, snorkeling and swimming. It's one of several beaches in ritzy La Jolla, home to Seal Rock, where people go to watch seals, well, on the rocks.

America's second most Instagrammable beach: South Beach. The Florida hotspot boasts 2,037 hashtags per meter, with a length of 3,942 and a total of 8,027,955 hashtagged posts on Instagram. It's a popular spring break spot, but also a lively beach year-round, which leaves plenty of time and space for photo shoots.

In third place is another California beach with its own reality series: Laguna Beach. This beach has 1,319 hashtags per meter and is home to several annual events including the Festival of the Arts, Kelpfest, and Pageant of the Masters.

Venice Beach is fourth on the list, proving California may be the state to go to for an epic Insta-worthy beach road trip. This Los Angeles beach has 899 hashtags per meter and is one of the most beloved tourist attractions in Southern California.

A little more remote but just as beautiful, Hawaii’s Sandy Beach, located on the south shore of O’ahu, takes the fifth spot.
