Zendaya showed us the power and grace of acrobatics high above the crowd in The Greatest Showman, and now a lucky person gets the chance to have The Greatest Job—as a social media creator documenting all the show-stopping moments of the Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey circus tour. Maybe you can score some time with Hugh Jackman’s equivalent backstage. This dream job comes with three rings and a big top, but this isn't jewelry and clothing we're talking about!
The Greatest Show on Earth is about to embark, and Ringling is hiring someone with a passion for both circus arts and social media to join the team traveling across the nation as a “show guide” across all social media platforms. The job starts in July as the performers start rehearsals.
The official title is Social Correspondent and Creator, and it doesn’t hurt if you can do flips and stunts yourself: as in juggling multiple social media accounts, capturing photos and videos of performers blasting through their acts and creating stunning content that draws crowds to watch in person. You’ll also get the chance to respond to comments and messages on Ringling’s social pages—bring your sense of humor.
You’ll work with Ringling’s global media team to brainstorm new social media campaigns designed to get more folks under the Big Top. You’ll need writing skills for blog posts and the brief, curated storytelling that comes with Instagram and TikTok. And perhaps most of all, you need a sense of awe and wonder for throwing your head back and laughing at the clowns, cheering on the acrobats and enjoying the history-rich experience of going to the circus.
More details: the successful candidate will have three years of experience working in social media marketing within Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and Youtube, including using tools such as Hootsuite, Facebook Insights and Youtube Studio. If you’re bilingual or multilingual, that’s a plus. You’ll have to be willing to drop everything and get on the road, but meals are included on show days (3-4 days a week).
