Starbucks is getting in on the high-protein trend with a brand-new menu of protein-packed drinks, officially available as of September 29.
The coffee giant has introduced Protein Lattes and Protein Cold Foam drinks to menus across the country. Think of them as your morning coffee with a built-in boost—enough grams of protein to actually count as part of breakfast.
The Protein Cold Foam lineup covers all the bases with sweet, satisfying flavors. The Iced Banana Cream Protein Matcha featuring unsweetened matcha layered with syrup and topped with Banana Protein Cold Foam clocks in at 24 grams of protein for a grande. Sweet tooths might go for the Iced Vanilla Cream Protein Latte (26 grams) or the Chocolate Cream Protein Cold Brew (19 grams), swirled with chocolate foam and vanilla syrup.

But the official Protein Latte lineup is where things get serious. The Sugar-Free Vanilla Protein Matcha has unsweetened matcha, sugar-free vanilla syrup and protein-boosted milk with 28–36 grams protein. The Sugar-Free Vanilla Protein Latte blends espresso with protein-boosted milk and sugar-free vanilla (27–29 grams). The Vanilla Protein Latte is a sweeter, non-sugar-free version with espresso and vanilla (27–29 grams). The Protein Matcha mixes classic syrup and protein-boosted milk with unsweetened matcha (28–36 grams).
Lattes and Cold Foams are not the only way to get your protein boost. For an extra $2 (prices may vary by location), you can top almost any Starbucks drink with Protein Cold Foam in flavors like banana, vanilla, sugar-free vanilla, chocolate, matcha, salted caramel, brown sugar and even seasonal pumpkin and pecan. Expect about 15 grams of protein added to your order. You can also add protein-boosted milk to any beverage for a small upcharge.
If your morning focus is on fueling up, Starbucks’ new protein menu delivers plenty of options with your much-needed morning buzz.
