Taco Bell and Tajín have been unofficially coupled in Mexican food matrimony by fast-food taco connoisseurs for years. On August 13, 2026, both brands are making it official as Taco Bell launches a menu of Tajín-infused collaborations officiated by Mexican rapper Peso Pluma.

Decades before Peso blessed this union, I was eating Taco Bell five times a week on my way to work from school—usually in my car. (By senior year, the drive-thru guy knew my order.) Whenever I was feeling recklessly adventurous, Tajín would make a cameo if my chaotic commute allowed me to sprinkle some into a delicious Cheesy Gordita Crunch. As a millennial, I am happy that the new generation of college students do not have to contort themselves in their cars to get Tajín into a Cheesy Gordita Crunch.
On Tuesday, I got the chance to try Taco Bell's new menu items before the big nationwide release. I was not behind the wheel this time, but at the Taco Bell Cantina in South Beach, where I had two chile-lime-seasoned Gorditas and sampled the rest of the limited-time menu. The Taco Bell x Tajín menu features the cheesy icon along with a Tajín Taco that comes with a Tajín-flavored hard taco shell.
There's already a lot going on in a CGC, but the added Tajín proves that more is more, especially when it comes to customizing your taco. To that end, both the Tajín Cheesy Gordita Crunch and the Tajín Taco come with mango-flavored salsa to balance the chili-lime flavors. You can choose your own adventure as far as the level of heat, spice, and tang—though it's better suited for the restaurant than the car, so keep that in mind at the drive-thru. Things can get messy!
Fans of a Tajín rim can order up the Tajín Pineapple Strawberry Freeze, available as the perfect side piece to your meal, and it can be infused with your favorite liquor at Taco Bell Cantina restaurants across the country. I wouldn't be surprised if this replaced everyone's favorite margarita slushie this summer. Frozen cocktails, who?
While the new Tajín version is good, I don't think it could ever replace the original Cheesy Gordita Crunch of my dreams. I like the freedom to spice as I go, but maybe you prefer a more turnkey version that's seasoned for you. If so, the Tajín menu is for you. And if the existing sprinkling isn't enough, each menu item will be served with a packet of Tajín for those who may want more seasoning on their food or perhaps a Tajín rim on their frozen drink.
While the Taco Bell x Tajín menu will satisfy your Mexican urges and cravings, it may ultimately just break your heart long-term; the menu will only be available for a limited time. But hey, don’t cry because it will be over; smile because it may inspire you to get your own bottle of Tajín and find a Taco Bell drive-thru to make your own creation.
