While there are plenty of guides to steer you towards the best cities to visit—whether for food, beauty, walkability or other specific interests—sometimes you need input from the vast variety of strangers doling out opinions on the internet. Enter Reddit.

A Reddit user recently asked "What is the most beautiful city you've ever been to in the USA?" and plenty of users chimed in with their heartfelt thoughts extolling the visual appeal of several U.S. cities that made repeat appearances in the comments. Here are the spots that Reddit users can't stop raving about.

These are America’s most beautiful cities, according to Reddit:

St. Augustine, FL
America’s oldest city anchors its appeal in centuries-old stones. Its Castillo de San Marcos, drawbridge-guarded Bridge of Lions and cobblestone lanes evoke Old World Europe. Reddit loves the "Spanish Colonial architecture" and the beach-meets-history vibe.

Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA
These two Southern cities are neck-and-neck among commenters. "Charleston and Savannah are prettier than St. Aug," one commenter declares. Others gush over Savannah's 22 leafy squares, antique lamplights and Spanish moss–draped oaks. "I will duel anyone that says Charleston is better," says another user. But other commenters are smitten with Charleston's pastel façades, cobbled lanes and Lowcountry charm.

Washington, DC
The monuments a historic hum of this city, plus magnificent vistas and seasonal cherry blossoms caught the eyes of many commenters. One called out the architecture of neighborhoods like Embassy Row, Kalorama, Georgetown and Capitol Hill.
