Before we know it, the holidays will be here, and it’s time to start thinking about where to head to spend a special international trip. It's always fun to deck a different hall, right? Maybe it would help to know where other travelers are going. The travel insurance company VisitorsCoverage has collected data to create a list of the top international places Americans will be traveling in November and December. Are there some bucket list places on this list for you?

The number one destination is Israel, where 9.7 percent of travelers are heading. Here, beaches, archaeological sites, and Old City Jerusalem are popular places to visit. And make sure to catch the spectacular sunsets in this beautiful country.

The second most popular holiday destination is Spain, with 8.6 percent choosing amazing beaches, famous architecture, and culinary joys like tapas and paella.

The third is Canada, at 6.5 percent. Perhaps easier to reach – not requiring a flight, depending on where you’re going – this friendly neighbor to the north has hockey games, ice hotels and great visibility for the Northern Lights.

Next was a tie for fourth place with 5.4 percent: Colombia and Italy. Colombia offers great dining, a wonderful dancing culture and the chance to see how coffee is made. In Italy, visit vineyards and enjoy a gastronomic tour of one of the birthplaces of food most Americans absolutely adore.

If you want to stay stateside, perhaps you’ll need to book travel to tour the world’s largest Christmas light maze in Las Vegas and Washington DC. Or celebrate Kwanzaa in one of the happiest states in the nation. Perhaps you’ll want to take a chance on a more underrated destination in which to light the menorah. Wherever you choose, you know you’ll enjoy seeing new sights while everyone’s basking in the glow of the holidays.
