AUGUST 5 UPDATE: The program is set to run from August 14 through October 21. Folks all across the country can visit TheWalmartDriveIn.com to find out which locations will be transformed into drive-in theaters on which dates. Expect 60 destinations in Texas to participate in the program, plus almost 10 in Kansas, two in New Jersey and plenty more all around the United States.

As for the selected movies, nostalgic favorites the likes of The Goonies, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Beetlejuice will warm your heart again, while Blockbusters like Wonder Woman, Black Panther, The Lego Batman Movie and others will thoroughly entertain just about anyone in your family.

But there's more: special guests have committed to participate in the festivities. Actress Drew Barrymore will be the virtual host at every event while other celebrities—including LeBron James, Jennifer Garner, Chrissy Metz and Peter Berg, among others—will be making in-person or virtual appearances.

Set up those phone reminders: free tickets to each screening will be available on the program's website starting today at 5pm EST.

With social distancing practices still the norm in most of the country, this summer will be filled with drive-in movie theaters, drive-up restaurants and long road trips. And now, one of America's biggest retailers is getting in on the fun.

Walmart announced via a tweet on Wednesday, July 1 that select stores will turn into drive-in movie theaters this summer thanks to a partnership with Tribeca drive-in company. Starting in early August, movie theaters will pop up at Walmart Supercenters across America. While it hasn't been revealed which stores will be transformed, the tweet did say that there will be car-side popcorn and drink service.

In their own tweet, Tribeca added that 160 store parking lots will turn into safe, family-fun drive-in movie theaters.
