Yesterday Disney+ released Frozen 2 early. Although the official press release made no mention of the coronavirus, the company's announcement explained the desire to surprise "families with some fun and joy during this challenging period." In light of the recent school closures in New York City and beyond, Disney's decision was likely influenced by American families' new status quo.

Today, a slew of other production companies have made similar decisions.

Universal Pictures announced that The Hunt, Emma and The Invisible Man—all currently in movie theaters—will be made available on-demand for purchase starting this Friday.

Dreamworks' Trolls World Tour, which was scheduled to drop in theaters on April 10, will be available for at-home streaming that same day.

In other movie news: last week, a few upcoming releases were postponed, including Fast and Furious: F9, while others "indefinitely shelved," including Mulan, No Time to Die and A Quiet Place 2.

As always, if none of these features tickle your fancy, Netflix might do the trick. Feel free to browse through our selection of the very best movies currently available on the streaming giant and, of course, stay safe.
