Time Out says

Stepping into the lobby of St. Regis Atlanta, you’re immediately struck by a sense of grandeur. From the set of sweeping staircases adorned with crystal chandeliers to the Astor Court breakfast area (where you can also enjoy afternoon tea), it’s pretty clear the property takes its commitment to opulence seriously. They also offer butler service on arrival, to really drive home the concept of quintessential luxury.

For such a grand first impression, the rooms offer a more understated elegance, favoring neutral tones and minimal wall art. That said, the bathrooms are decked out in marble and have a tub with a passthrough window—for those who want to continue a conversation with a fellow guest (or just watch television!) while they lather up with Sachajuan bath products. It’s pure bubbly indulgence.

Despite only being built in 2009, the hotel has a classic, old-timey vibe—which is, perhaps, unsurprising when you consider it’s inspired by the Beaux Arts architecture of The St. Regis New York. This is particularly evident when you take a seat at The St. Regis Bar, where you’re overlooked by a massive mural of a phoenix rising from the ashes. With oak paneled walls, plush carpets and dim lighting, the bar is the perfect spot for a sexy, late-night cocktail. If you don’t have to be up early the next morning, ask for the not-on-the-menu and very smokey Ashes of the Phoenix. That should get things lit—quite literally. (And, hey, if the hangover does hit, you can always return for their signature Bloody Mary, the West Paces Mary.)

If you want to really treat yourself, check out Michelin Star-winning restaurant Atlas for an à la carte meal or tasting menu option, or head to the slightly more casual Garden Room for fresh food and flowery cocktails under a leafy canopy.

Beyond sleeping and dining experiences, the St. Regis also offers a spa, fitness center, outdoor pool and a bridal boutique(!), so whether you’re there to unwind in the lap of luxury or just stopping in for a brief visit, you’ll find just about every need met—with an added flourish, of course.

Nearby

St. Cecilia’s: From Atlanta chef-owner Ford Fry, the upscale Italian spot offers decadent pasta dishes you’ll be thinking about for days.

The Little Sparrow: If you’re in the mood to indulge, this Parisian bistro-style restaurant is the perfect place. (Tip: Order the Aleppo shrimp and French onion soup to start, and dunk the complimentary crusty baguette into it.)

The Salty: For your morning caffeine and sugar fix, head to this quirky donut shop for a uniquely flavored baked good. The brown butter and salt donut is mouth-wateringly good.

Neighborhood

If you’re headed to Atlanta and want a slice of sophisticated living, Buckhead is the neighborhood for you. You’ll find yourself surrounded by droves of sprawling, uniquely designed mansions and no shortage of high-end eateries and upscale shopping areas.

Time Out tip

If you want to have dinner at Atlas while staying at the St. Regis, be sure to make a reservation in advance of your trip. And, if you’re after a chill vibe and less of a scene, arrive at the St. Regis Bar on the earlier side of the evening.
