Africa Belle Soirée 2015 says
Alliance Française d'Atlanta cordially welcomes you to the 2015 "AFRICA BELLE SOIRÉE" !!

"AFRICA BELLE FESTIVAL & SOIRÉE" is generously supported by a grant from The City of Atlanta - Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs. This year's Soirée is co-sponsored by the High Museum of Art, Atlanta (co-hosted by the High Museum's Friends of African Art) and promoted in partnership with the French American Chamber of Commerce - Atlanta (FACC-Atlanta), the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Africa Fashion and Design Week, Africa Atlanta at GA Tech, the Art Institute of Atlanta-Decatur, and FlyVizion Entertainment.

Wonderfully themed "Rythmes Africains", our attendees will experience a vibrant, melodic tour de Francophone Africa! Under the glass canopy of Colony Square Plaza, evening guests will appreciate the essence of 'mangez bien' as they will be treated to an exquisite ensemble of exemplary West African entrees.Tastefully curated for even the most discerning foodie, and offering an assortment of meat-friendly and vegetarian options, we guarantee: no palate shall be left unpleased!

Soon after, our gathering will commence our travel north on Peachtree Street to Atlanta's ivory palace -- our sister-venue, the High Museum of Art! Enlivening the esprit de collectivité in our grand procession will be the African dancers & drummers of famed local troupe SAMA TO. Upon arriving in the Stent wing of the High Museum, the "Africa Belle Soirée" will open with an exclusive teaser of the AFRICAN FASHION & DESIGN WEEK ATLANTA (AFDW). Hosted by the gracious former Miss Sierra Leone Philippa Knowles, and in coordination with fashion expert & trendsetter Dr. Courtney A. Hammonds, the showcase will feature flattering fabrics and couture pairings by H-7 DESIGNS and the burgeoning fashionistas courtesy of The Art Institute of Atlanta – Decatur -- you surely won't want to miss this glimpse of glam & gloss returning to Atlanta in August.

Signaling the start of our grand finale will be master kora musician Diali Cissokho & Kaira Ba! Strumming festive melodies of love, celebration and life on his native kora, there will be little surprise why DIALI and his bandmates were nominated "Best African Group" at the recent All African Music Awards! Stay tuned after the performance while Africa Belle Soirée resident DJ Mamoud (of Mouch Entertainment) will take us out on an epic sound-tour of Francophone Africa you will never forget!!
