The Alzheimer's Association, GA Chapter will be hosting Alzheimer's Awareness Day at the Georgia State Capitol on Wednesday, February 3, to speak with our state senators and state representatives about the needs of those living with Alzheimer's disease or a related dementia and their families

To raise awareness about Alzheimer's and related dementias at the Capitol among all legislators and state agencies

To advocate for legislation created as an outcome of the State Plan development

To advocate for legislation strengthening Georiga's Respite Care for those with Alzheimer's disease or Dementia

To create a Georgia Alzheimer's Registry; to create Emergency Placement for those with Alzheimer's disease or Dementia when a care facility is closed or when a person with Alzheimer's disease or Dementia wanders

Awareness Day will begin with the Advocate Check-In at 8:30 a.m. at Central Presbyterian Church and will conclude with the Closing Ceremony at 3:00 p.m. The church is located at 201 Washington Street, S.W., Atlanta, GA 30303. Lunch will be provided. There is no cost to attend, however, registration is required. The online registration deadline is January 27th. Walk-on registrations will still be accepted.
This is your opportunity to tell your story of your family's journey with Alzheimer's or a related dementia to your state senator and state representative--and to ask them to support key legislation.
