Time Out says

http://www.smithsoldebar.com/events/rachel-reese-amigo-nick-bryant#.VMPU5mTF9_g Amigo (Charlotte, NC) Based out of Charlotte, North Carolina, amiable country-rockers Amigo specialize in a winning blend of propulsive, Jonathan Richman/Doug Sahm-inspired rockabilly/roots rock and soulful, heartache-inducing folk-rock in the vein of Gram Parsons and The Band. A honky tonk dance band with a punk rock heart, the trio formed in 2012 around the talents of guitarist/vocalist Slade Baird, drummer Adam Phillips, and bass player Thomas Alverson. In 2014 the group set out on their first national tour in support of their Scott Solter- (Superchunk, The Mountain Goats) produced debut long-player, Might Could. - James Christopher Monger, allmusic.com Rachel Reese (Acworth, GA) Singing her whole life, (avoiding piano lessons for most of it) and being a writer of poetry and short stories, Rachel finally fused her passion for writing and music and wrote her first five songs in late 2011 after graduating college, some world travels, and, inevitably, falling in love with piano. Her EP, Language of Flowers, was released a few months later in March 2012. Moving forward as a singer/songwriter-pianist, she wrote her album, Even if We Had a Telescope, which was released one year later in March of 2013. Her newest album, Solstice, was released in May 2014. Rachel’s music goes beyond the melody, with her love of words being the driving force behind her lyrics that are laced with melancholy and read like poetry. Creativity and detail shape each song’s structure, while still achieving a rare level of depth through passion, emotion, and raw honesty. Her voice is distinctive, sweeping genres such as jazz, folk, and soul to piece together a sound that is piercingly beautiful and at times ethereal. Nick Bryant Music (Brunswick, GA)
