Atlanta, Ga Realities Of Family Detention says
Come out and join us for this important event to learn more about U.S. policies against refugees fleeing from Central America. Since July of 2014 the Obama Administration has jailed more than 30,000 children and mothers in three family detention centers around the United States. Children as young as only a few months old have found themselves jailed, being refused basic needs and at the constant risk of deportation.

The only way we know to end this policy is by informing the community, people like you, as to what is really happening. Join us for this event, which we are hosting in partnership with UUSC: Unitarian Universalist Service Committee, where you'll hear directly from familes who have gone through this detention, the lawyers who have fought night and day to get them out and the community advocates who have stepped up finding support for families in cities around the United States.

In addition to this community event, we are hosting a volunteer orientation for people who want to get involved and directly support local refugee families: Sunday, Sep 11th at UUCA - Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Sign up for the orientation here:
