Bill Konigsberg & The Trevor Project Join Forces In Atlanta! says
The Trevor Project has saved countless lives, perhaps yours.
Mark your calendars, Atlanta LGBTQQIAA teens & up- this one's for you!
Meet and have a real chat with Sid Fleischman and Lambda Literary Award-winning author Bill Konigsberg on his Trevor Project Tour, bringing awareness of and alternatives to teen suicide, especially to LGBTQQIAA youth and those who work with them. Sponsored by Scholastic, Bill is happily traveling the country to make things better and let youth know they are not alone, and how to use The Trevor Lifeline to save themselves or someone else in need.
Pride School Atlanta, Inc. will be hosting openly gay sports writer and novelist of LGBT-oriented youth works, author Bill Konigsberg on his The Trevor Project tour to talk about preventing teen suicide and living a great life!

Tell your youth group, therapy group, family, friends, school chums, skatepark buddies, even your drinking pals (them especially!) since we know some of you do that sort of thing, your youth group, or tell NO ONE and just come by yourself and get real with Bill Konigsberg about suicide prevention and more. Meet people who understand you and are glad you are you. Share real stories of real life with others who have lived it, too.
*Mentors and Educators and Pride School Atlanta Team members welcome to attend as well, but understand that we are mostly facilitators vs. participants for this event, creating a safe space (and transportation!) for this conversation.
Light refreshments provided. You are welcome to contribute FABULOUS snacks to the table! See FAQ's for directions to parking.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
Prefer ages 13 & up, knowing that this is a serious conversation about teen suicide prevention. No id required.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
Check Marta or get a ride! Bus lines run in various directions to and near the venue.
IF you are driving and have never been here: Read carefully :
Enter the UUCA parking lot on the i-85 Northbound access road one of two ways. Go North from westbound North Druid Hills as if you are getting onto I85 N but stay on the ACCESS Road. It will be on your right soon after Performance Bicycle (two driveways- take either one).
OR, go South from Clairmont Road on the Access Road that runs parallel to 85S, and stay in the left lane. Take the U-TURN under the freeway to head North, and the UUCA is immediately on your RIGHT. Turn into either driveway but preferably the 2nd one so entry is easier. If you reach Cliff Valley Way on your right, you can just park there and walk around to the front parking lot entrance to avoid circling around again if you like.

What can/can't I bring to the event?
Leave your pets and small children at home if possible. Alcohol-free of course, too. Mostly, leave your biases at home and come with an open mind! And feel free to bring your Bill Konigsberg books to get signed!
