Conscious Yoga Workshop says
As the result of traumatic life events, the parts of the brain that connect mind and body become disrupted. Because of this, our bodies can become shut down & difficult or scary to feel. You may feel like a shell of a human, like you just can't go on/disconnected from yourself. You may feel overwhelmed with depression, anxiety or panic attacks. Maybe you just want to breathe again. You are not stuck in this. There is a way to change all of this.

Although yoga is the ideal tool for healing the mind and body, if practiced without awareness, the yoga practice can actually perpetuate certain neurological patterns that contribute towards stressful experiences rather than guide them towards transformation.

JOIN us on Monday, January 25th for a Conscious Yoga WORKSHOP.

We will discuss the nervous system and it's relationship to the brain, mind, body and the ways it functions so that we may learn how to support it more consciously. We will practice movements in a way that let our body and mind find one another with awareness, making room for healing and growth.

Therapists and clients of therapists are especially invited to this workshop.

We will experiment with certain forms and body sensations that atune our nervous system towards centering and becoming present in the moment. We will also explore making choices according to what is useful to us while we try out various forms, movements, and stillness.

No physical assists/adjustments are offered by the teacher during this class.

Pictures will be taken at some point during this workshop.

•No prior yoga experience is necessary to participate in this class, if you are currently involved in therapy with a licensed counselor/therapist.
•If you already have a regular yoga practice and you currently do not work with a therapist, you may check out and see if this class is right for you.
•Be aware that this is not a "yoga therapy class" and we will not be treating any medical conditions, physical or mental.
•If you are looking for an asana workout, this may not be the right class for you.
