Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery announces a new film series in collaboration with Dans Kamera Istanbul.
The Eyedrum Performance Committee will present Dance Films Screening Series: 1, which includes award-winners from around the world as well as extraordinary local works.
“We’re aiming to build a community of dance film makers and lovers here in Atlanta,” said the event’s organizer and Eyedrum Performance Committee’s co-chair Onur Topal-Sumer. Topal-Sumer, a native of Istanbul, has curated film festivals in several European cities. An active dancer and choreographer in Atlanta, she is the director of the service organization Dance ATL.
“The Dance Films Screening Series will share two hours of established award winning artists’ works and encourage artists who are focused on and interested in the artistic and experimental dimensions of making dance for camera,” said Topal-Sumer. “The goal is to support and provide collaboration opportunities to filmmakers, videographers, dancers, choreographers, photographers, musicians and dance and digital technology explorers. This is an open space for artistic sharing, experiencing and creating through different perspectives, backgrounds and focuses.”
Eyedrum Art and Music Gallery is located between Mitchell Street and MLK Jr. Drive at 88 Forsyth Street, SW. The screenings will take place in the 86 Forsyth Street performance hall. Dance Films Screening Series: 1 will help to generate funds to create a dance floor and dance space at Eyedrum's new location!
Tickets: $10
It will be an amazing night of dance films, so be there!!
