This multimedia event will feature dramatic readings and interpretive performances of actual crass messages people get on social media and dating sites. We will confront the dehumanization, objectification, and tastelessness of this harassment by highlighting the absurdity of the messages: Comedy in tragedy.

This event is built on submitted interactions - screenshots, etc - of ACTUAL messages. It is not for prose or poetry, unless you consider tacky "hey"-to-death-threat messages poetry. Real submissions from real people are the point. All submitted content will be assigned anonymously and randomly to readers.

To submit an exchange (screen cap or link preferred) or an absurd photo you've gotten (not just a standard dick pic, but one worthy of a slide show), you can do that at visit http://sadieup.tumblr.com/submit - you don't have to read to submit content! Sources will not be revealed.

All included submissions will be allocated to readers by lottery system; nobody will read their own submission. The conversations will be transcribed into Person 1 / Person 2, and one half of each conversation will be provided to the reader. They'll not know the other half of the conversation, or who will be reading it. Readers can be of any gender, and will be assigned to reader parts regardless of gender. (That means that people may be reading sides of conversations that may be different than their own gender or sexual orientation.)

If you'd like to be a reader, or if you'd like to offer musical or dance accompaniment, message Sadie Hawkins.
