Digital Fabric Design: A Trio Of Techniques Workshop says
Learn the basics of fabric design with Spoonflower (an online digital printing service for individualsl to create on-demand, custom-designed textiles) while learning how to build your own digital fabric designs. Starting with cut paper, illustrations, and painted textures, you'll make three designs - an abstract geometric, a novelty print, and a seamless organic texture that can be layered with both. Then, you'll use Photoshop to transform these designs into a digital file that can be uploaded and printed to make your own custom fabrics or papers. Drawing, painting, fabric design, or Photoshop skills aren't necessary. Just dive in and begin creating your own custom textiles!

Becka Rahn is a digital fabric and clothing designer. She is the coauthor of “ The Spoonflower Handbook ”, a how-to guide to designing your own fabric and other surfaces using digital design tools. For 11 years, Becka worked as the director of education at the Textile Center of MN where she supervised and designed curriculum, and taught classes for youth and adults. She is currently the MN State Representative for the Surface Design Association and is serving on the Etsy Sellers Advisory Board for 2016. Becka has won several awards, including grants from the MN State Arts Board and Jerome Foundation for her work. She lives in Minneapolis with her husband and two big black labs. When she is not in front of the computer designing something, she likes to cook and take long walks in search of lattes. You can find all about her designs and other adventures at her website:
