Diy Discussion Series: Diy Distribution
Advertising
Time Out says
RESCHEDULED FOR MARCH 18th! Rachel Reese produces and edits a publication of artist writings called Possible Press, served as senior editor of BurnAway, has curated a multitude of exhibits (including the currently running Pratfall Tramps), ran a small storefront exhibition space called Possible Projects, and now serves as Communications Manager at the Contemporary. She will talk about her practice, including channels (self-created or otherwise) used to distribute her work and the work of others.
Possible topics include: how does one navigate already established avenues to circulate ideas/work; what are some methods in self-creating distribution; what does it mean to distribute another person's work via retail, press coverage and criticism, and exhibitions; what are some DIY responses to a dearth of representation or opportunities?
This is an open forum discussion! Any/everyone is strongly encouraged to participate.
Coffee and pastries provided for a small donation! Funds directly support The Low Museum and Murmur.
Murmur and The Low Museum are organizing a series of dialogues with people involved in DIY practices. Each will feature a facilitator and a general theme. After presenting their work for ten minutes, the facilitator will open discussion to the audience.
***Each facilitator is not positioned as authority on the subject and the discussion aspect is not framed as a Q & A. ***!
