(Massage, Acupuncture & Nutrition) February 7th, 6:30-8pm at Energy Lab, ATC is pleased to host a Health and Wellness workshop highlighting the importance & benefits of Massage, Acupuncture and Nutrition for Triathletes. There will be drawings for those attending the event and prizes will include, massage session, BMR testing, acupuncture sessions and all natural skin care products (for those unpleasant hot skin areas often caused by long runs and bike rides). (Massage Therapist and Personal Trainer), The Hunt for Wellness will talk about: the benefits of massage; What types of massages are best for Triathletes depending on their situation; The importance of self massage and how to incorporate into your workout routine. Jennifer Myers L.Ac. Dipl.Ac., (Acupuncturist), Core Health and Wellness Acupuncture will present information about the benefits of Acupuncture including: How to minimize / eliminate training injuries; Staying healthy while training; How to determine what your injury needs to heal quickly and completely (and why ice shouldn’t be your “go-to” for injuries); Maintaining & increasing endurance, stamina and energy levels while training. Ilana Katz MS, RD, CSSD (Specialized Sports Dietitian) for Optimal Nutrition for Life will discuss GI distress (what is it and why it affects athletes); Causes & Symptoms of athletes that struggle during endurance events and how it can be avoided; What NOT to do when it comes to your training and race day nutrition.
