Are you available to join Dr. Jim Chappuis and Gail Feldman the Associate Publisher of CULTRED Magazine on Friday, May 20th from 7-10 p.m. for the opening of our newest art exhibition?

Collective One Gallery at the Westside Cultural Arts Center is proud to present Double Vision, a series of abstract works by two artists: Eric Mack and Anthony Liggins. The exhibition explores how each artist portrays the rhythm and pulse of the external world in their own unique representations, using colors and shapes to create movement and inspire strong emotions in the viewer. The exhibition will run from May 20th - June 24th.

ABOUT ERIC MACK: Eric Mack (b.1976, Charleston) creates mathematically based renderings with a distinct post-modern twist. Works are informed with superimposed grids, patterns, and portals. Complex surfaces are created with paint, found objects, natural fibers, and synthetic substrates that explore the systems of our visual world.

His most recent show was Resurfaced+Restructured,Reginald Ingraham Gallery,Los Angeles 2015. Recent group shows include Checkered History, Outpost Artist Resources, Brooklyn, N.Y. 2015; This Postman Collects,Clark Atlanta University Galleries, Atlanta 2016: Hard Edged:Geometrical Abstraction and Beyond, California African American Museum, Los Angeles,Ca. and Spotlight, Atlas at the St.Regis Hotel, Atlanta, 2016, and The Contemporary Art Museum of St.Louis.

ABOUT ANTHONY LIGGINS: Liggins creates large-scale abstract paintings and mixed media pieces inspired by fashion, sports, music travel, and design themes. The artist incorporates photography, yarn, and found objects with layers of acrylic paint to create movement and depth in his artwork. He believes in the potential for his art to act as a language that connects people, and his artwork represents a spiritual journey of the enlightened mind, heart and spirit. The pieces in Double Vision represent the artist's most recent collection, in which the artist uses mixed media and color layering to create visuals that excite and inspire the viewer.

Liggins is an Atlanta and Miami based artist with a global reach. He has held twelve major group museum showings in the US and Europe at some of the most highly regarded and sought after venues including the Smithsonian Institute and the US Department of State Show. His work has been featured in numerous prominent art and design magazines, as well as TV shows such as HGTV's Urban Oasis.
