Dining Out With A Purpose (DOWAP) cordially invites you to our kickoff event for 2015, which will be held at 10th & Piedmont restaurant, on Tuesday, February 24th, from 5:00-10:00pm.
If you are unfamiliar with DOWAP’s mission, we are a dining club that gathers bi-monthly in support of local charitable organizations. Participating restaurants donate 20% of each patron’s bill to the charity organization honored for that month.
Please join us as we honor Southerners On New Ground (SONG), an LGBTQ southern regional organization that advocates for social justice at the intersection of race, class, gender & sexuality. For over 22 years, SONG has been doing groundbreaking and fearless work in the South, building their base of members to engage in leadership development, work in coalitions and alliances, and create a “sustainable South that works toward the transformation of our economic, social, spiritual and political relationships.” SONG’s current campaign, “Free From Fear,” lobbies against police brutality and state violence against LGBTQ people and people of color in the South. You can find more information about SONG at their website: http://southernersonnewground.org/
Come out and mingle, network and enjoy 10th & Piedmont’s tantalizing menu while supporting an organization that works hard to fight for the civil rights of all. We are looking forward to meeting our first time attendees and reuniting with our return patrons. Be sure to bring a friend!
