Georgia Green Party Annual Meeting says
At the Saturday, October 24th Annual Meeting of the Georgia Green Party, Hugh Esco will provide a brief update and answer questions about the Party's ongoing ballot access litigation now in the discovery phase before the Federal Court in Georgia's Northern District.

On October 14th Esco was deposed by the Attorney General's office in their efforts to defend the state's prohibitive barriers to ballot access. Green Party activists assert that the rules perform as designed, to create a web of barriers to participation in Georgia elections which guarantee that rules for accessing the ballot outside the corporate party primaries are rarely used and even more rarely used successfully. Their effect serves to freeze the political status quo and to channel participation through the ballot-qualified parties narrowing the scope of acceptable political debate.

The Georgia Green Party holds its 18th Annual Meeting starting at 1:00 pm, on Saturday, October 24th, 2015.

The 2015 Annual Convention of the Georgia Green Party will convene at the Roswell Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton County Library; 115 Norcross Street (in downtown Roswell); Roswell GA 30075. The venue is conveniently located a block or so from a bus stop on MARTA route #85.

The Party's annual meeting is used to conduct the business authorized by the Bylaws and Rules of the Party, including: (1) the annual election of party servants, (2) the consideration of amendments to the Platform and possibly of (3) proposed amendments to the Bylaws. The meeting will also feature a 3:30 pm presentation by Meg Norris a leader with Georgia Opt-Out, an affiliate of She and Bruce Dixon (Managing Editor of the weekly publication and cochair of the Georgia Green Party) will lead a discussion on high stakes testing as well as Gov. Deal's school privatization amendement expected to appear on the 2016 General Election ballot next November.
